Ed Sheeran is causing Saturday Night Live producers to panic.

Ed was due to perform on next week’s show on Saturday (November 6), however, he will not be allowed into the United States with a positive test amid the pandemic.

They’re now looking to replace him with “another singer who appeals to the same demo,” the source says, citing examples like Shawn Mendes or Justin Bieber.

They are also reportedly considering the idea of a remote performance, but that has not been confirmed.

Ed is offering to perform live via video link, but this isn’t something SNL does. The show likes to have the performer in studio,” a source told the outlet.
