On authenticity: “I actually 100% do feel stronger. I feel like more powerful like to be able to step into my actual self and be me on these records and still have them pop out feeling and sounding so great. And yeah, and it’s me. It is actually me. Like, I’m not like rapping about somebody else’s life. Like I’m not singing about somebody else’s situation. Like this is me and it feels so much better knowing that, you know?”

On his personal life: “Just always reminding myself that it’s okay to have down times as much as it is okay to have your up moments. And there’s been a lot of back and forth right now internally because I’m going through like this great transition in my life. Just becoming more comfortable with being feminine. Much more comfortable like going out and dating people and not like worried about what’s going to happen to my career if I’m like having a love life too and stuff like that. I’ve been trying to figure it out for like the last two-ish years, but it’s also like a lot of times, like I like to self-sabotage myself in these things, in these situations and it’s just kind of growing, you know? Just trying to growing and trying to not make the same mistakes as the last time over and over. Life is a battle of constant cycles until you get something right.”

On the line he’s most proud of: “‘I don’t f–k bitches I’m queer.’ — I feel like that was important, because I already knew this song was going to be very much a rap heavy song. And I felt like I knew who’s going to listen to this. So let me make sure I’m doubling down because a lot of people have been saying, ‘Oh, well I like his music, but he’s sus sometimes.’ It was like, ‘No,’ like this is literally… This is me. This is me moving forward. That wasn’t a moment, you know? I’m not really trying to make sure any audience that’s listening to my music is comfortable. I am going to do me and you know, ‘Oh, I hope they love it,’ you know?”
