Here's What Will Be Happening to the 'Eternals' Press Tour After the Cast's Possible COVID-19 Exposure

Changes are being made to the Eternals press tour.

Earlier today it was announced that stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan and Lauren Ridloff, as well as director Chloe Zhao, would not be attending Elle‘s Women in Hollywood event due to a possible COVID-19 exposure.

Disney confirmed that the cast of the film would be conducting virtual press events moving forward.

“Earlier today we were made aware of a possible exposure to COVID-19, and while all of our talent have tested negative, out of an abundance of caution, we are pivoting to virtual appearances rather than in-person events,” a spokesperson told People.

Gemma, Angelina, Salma and Lauren were set to be recognized at Elle‘s event, and Variety reports that Gemma made a virtual appearance to accept the honor on behalf of herself and her co-stars.

“I’m so sorry that I can’t be with you this evening, but I am so proud to be honored alongside such incredible women: Angelina, Salma and Lauren,” she said in her speech. “All of you I admire greatly, not just for everything they’ve achieved in their careers, but for everything they stand for in life and their advocacy.”

In case you missed it, two stars from the film brought their kids to the premiere.
