Halle Berry‘s 2004 film Catwoman is still sparking debate, 17 years after its release!
The latest trailer for The Batman was released earlier this month during the DC FanDome event, teasing a first look at Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman.
After the trailer’s debut, fans took to social media to share their excitement and brought up Halle‘s iteration of the character, which received quite a bit of backlash at the time of its release.

“Halle Berry ( Catwoman 2004 ) was my fav and will still live up to that.. y’all may hate it cause it wasn’t the same as the comics but her aura and seduction is what makes her stand out the most. So Zoë better bring it to the table,” a fan wrote, while another added, “I remember Halle Berry catching so much flack for Catwoman growin up, then i watched it for myself and i was like?????????? yall did all that bashing for what.”
Halle actually replied to one user who tweeted, “I’m sorry but Halle Berry ate her CAtwoman [sic] role up, idk why ppl hate that movies, it’s camp. I love it.”
“I’m seeing all the Catwoman love, everybody. Where were you guys 17 years ago,” she wrote, adding a cry-laughing emoji.
Last year, Halle said she thought the “story didn’t feel quite right” when she was working on Catwoman. Find out what else she said about the film…
