Cam Newton has been cut by the New England Patriots.
The 32-year-old former Carolina Panthers star quarterback played for New England last year, and was seemingly beat out for the starting role this year by Mac Jones, who is fresh out of college this year.
Cam threw for only 2,657 yards and 8 TDs in 15 games last season. It’s unclear where Cam might play this season now, and with only a few days left until football kicks off officially, it looks like he may not be an immediate starter this NFL season. Stay tuned as we learn more.
Cam ended up missing games last season due to contracting COVID-19.
