Princess Charlene of Monaco sharing new details about why she’s been separated from her family for the last several months.
The royal spoke with South African outlet Channel24 and explained why she hasn’t been able to travel home in order to be reunited with her husband, Prince Albert, and their six-year-old twins, Princess Garbiella and Prince Jacques.

Charlene told the outlet that while she longs for “my husband, my babies and my doggies,” complications from a surgery she had earlier this year mean her inner pressure is not able to equalize, making it impossible for her to fly above 20,000 feet.
The former Olympic swimmer underwent surgery in late June to address pain she was suffering from that turned out to be a severe ear nose and throat issue.
In early May, before her arrival in South Africa, she underwent a sinus lift and bone graft in order to prepare for dental implants..
When she began experiencing extreme soreness in her ears, she realized there was a problem.
The princess then underwent a second corrective surgery in late June, which forced her to postpone her return to Monaco where she was supposed to celebrate her 10th wedding anniversary.
