HBO Max Has Two More Animated 'Game of Thrones' Spinoffs in the Works

The Game of Thrones animated universe is expanding!

In case you missed it, in January 2021 it was reported that HBO Max was developing an “adult-leaning” animated drama based on the show.

According to a new report from THR on Friday (July 16), two more animated series are in the works at the streamer.

The outlet writes that one of the three shows is set in a territory that the original series never explored, The Golden Empire of Yi Ti, a region in the continent of Essos.

YiTi is considered one of the oldest and most advanced societies in the novels and is inspired by Imperial China.

THR also added that a rumored spin-off called Flea Bottom, which would center on life in the King’s Landing slum, is not moving forward.

So far the only confirmed Game of Thrones spin-off is the upcoming prequel House of the Dragon, which is set to air in 2022. You can see the first photos from the set of the show here.

Kit Harington recently went viral for his reaction to a Game of Thrones slot machine. Check it out!
