“Permission to Dance” is BTS’ fifth Hot 100 leader.
According to the outlet, the track drew 15.9 million U.S. streams and 1.1 million impressions from radio airplay. It also sold 140,100 downloads via its original and instrumental versions, per MRC Data.
The song also debuted at the top of the Digital Song Sales chart, making it BTS’ eighth No. 1 in that category.
BTS is the first artist to replace itself as No. 1 on the Hot 100 since Drake, whose song “In My Feelings” ended the eight-week streak of “Nice for What.”
Earlier this year, the band opened up about masculinity and dating in a candid interview.
