Turns out, you don’t even need a house to make big bucks in the real estate market. Tobey Maguire just added a huge amount of money to his wallet by selling a patch of dirt!
The 45-year-old actor just sold an empty plot of land in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles. The 1-acre lot is one of the only empty properties in the neighborhood, so it was definitely a coveted lot for someone wanting to build their own home from the ground up.

Tobey sold the plot of land for $10.75 million, which is only a little bit above the $10 million he bought the property for in 2008, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The actor reportedly tried to sell the land in 2018 for $14.25 million, but the price was lowered to $11 million last summer. The land previously held a Monterey Colonial-style home and one of the former owners was actress Greta Garbo.
Tobey just scored the second highest land deal in Los Angeles for 2021. The biggest sale so far this year was for an empty lot in Brentwood Park for $11.5 million.
