'The Voice' Contestant Ryan Gallagher Was Disqualified From The Competition

The Voice is missing one of its contestants.

According to reports, Ryan Gallagher has been disqualified from the show after “violating COVID protocols”.

The singer was one of the few selected to be on coach Kelly Clarkson‘s team this season and was vying for the last spot in the live rounds.

However, when the winner was announced, he was no where to be found and host Carson Daly explained, without further details that Ryan “had to exit the competition.”

TheWrap reports that a person close to production revealed that Ryan was removed from the show after violating the show’s rules surrounding COVID-19 safety. NBC had no comment on the reasons for his exit.

Ryan shared earlier in the season that his mother and grandmother had both been hospitalized with coronavirus, and fans assumed that was the reason for his sudden exit.

However, he told fans on Instagram that wasn’t the case.

“Thanks you everybody for your concern for my family,” he shared. “However everybody’s fine, that’s not the cause of what happened tonight on ‘The Voice.’ I didn’t drop out of the show. Details are still to come, I’ll keep you posted.”

It was just revealed that this popular judge would be returning again for season 20 of The Voice.
