The selfie features the two smiling together for the camera, with Joe tagging the photo with Demi‘s name and a purple heart.

A few years before, Demi shared their candid thoughts about Joe while revisiting Camp Rock in their Simply Complicated documentary: “This is the moment I friggin’ fell in love with him, in real life. I wasn’t acting much. We had our first kiss on camera,” they said at the time.

They also have since said that the relationship only lasted “a month or two.”

During the interview, he explained that he’d never felt “hugely masculine,” and wasn’t into stereotypically masculine things like cars.

“I have a definite feminine side, to the point that when I was a kid I thought I was gay for a bit,” he said.

“I definitely have a big feminine side. I love musical theatre, I love pop music, I love Britney Spears. My masculine side probably stops at drinking beer and watching football,” he continued.

He also revealed he prefers the women’s league: “I watched it and I was like, ‘I don’t know why I watch male football, this is much better.’”

“I am not a car guy. I like a nice car, but I’m not a car guy,” he said.

“But then, my wife is super pro-women and femininity. And so, as soon as we started dating, my life shifted to that. She plays in a female hockey team. We hang out with all the team. It’s very much women empowerment.”

“Unfortunately, our creator-executive producer, Silvio Horta, died last year due to suicide,” Vanessa shared with Entertainment Weekly. “So I don’t know what the status of the rights are.”

If you didn’t know, it was announced back in January 2020 that Silvio died by suicide at the age of 45.

Shortly after news of his death broke, Vanessa and other Ugly Betty stars – including America Ferrera and Michael Urie – took to social media to honor him.

Despite no plans for an Ugly Betty reboot happening right now, Vanessa said that she still keeps in touch with her former co-stars.

“We love each other, we keep in touch, but, who knows,” Vanessa said. “At the moment, not at all [possible].”
