Wesley Snipes is opening up about the upcoming Blade movie, which will star Mahershala Ali in the role for Marvel.
The 59-year-old actor played Blade in a series of movies from 1998 and 2004, and in a recent interview, opened up about his talk with Mahershala about taking on the part.

While speaking with Yahoo! Movies, Wesley revealed he did share some advice for Mahershala as he takes up the Blade mantle.
“We spoke. We shared that the issue of him being cast wasn’t between us, you know, that business. I’m cool with it,” Wesley said. “I don’t walk around as Blade, so I’m not attached to the character like that, you know? I feel no emotional loss. Zero.”
Wesley added that he’s “happy that he’s been cast, and more than likely he’ll do a great job.”
As for the advice he imparted to Mahershala, Wesley said that he told him to “make sure you’re in shape, man. Make sure you’re in shape. Try not to get hurt. That’s big.”
“The demands of action movies, you gotta be an elite athlete and be well-conditioned to survive it and to avoid injury. And enjoy it while it lasts,” he added.
If you didn’t see, Mahershala has already made his first appearance as Blade.
