Dennis Quaid is spilling some behind the scenes secrets about his iconic “Dennis Quaid is here!” prank on The Ellen DeGeneres Show!
Back in 2008, Ellen instructed the actor to walk into a coffee shop on the Warner Bros. lot and make a number of strange statements in third person while placing his order.
“Dennis Quaid is here” went on to become a catchphrase for him, as well as the name of his official website.
But in a recent appearance on Ellen‘s show, Dennis shared that he almost said no to the prank.

He recalled that he had already wrapped up his interview and was heading to his car when it was requested he star in the skit.
Dennis said he hesitated at first, telling Ellen, “A chill of fear went up my spine and that’s usually when I say yes. It means you’re getting out of your comfort zone.”
He continued, “It was really so much fun to do and it just came off like it did.”
