Adele asked Spotify to take the shuffle button off of album pages as the default option, so that tracks can now just play in the order they were intended to be played.
“This was the only request I had in our ever changing industry! We don’t create albums with so much care and thought into our track listing for no reason,” she wrote on Twitter.
“Our art tells a story and our stories should be listened to as we intended. Thank you Spotify for listening.”
The option is now taken away for listeners to mix the order played from the album pages.
However, you can still shuffle when you click into an individual album track, meaning it is still possible to start listening to albums on any track and then play in a random order. The shuffle button also still appears on playlists.

Anything for you 🙏✨
