Seth MacFarlane makes his way to an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! at the El Capitan Entertainment Centre in Los Angeles on Monday (September 20).
During his interview, Seth told host Jimmy Kimmel that Family Guy‘s new COVID-19 PSA was partly inspired by Fox News.

“You’ve been very critical of your own employer because the Fox network also is the parent company of Fox News,” Jimmy began. “And I guess you’re not a Tucker guy?”
“No, you know, that’s why we did this Family Guy PSA about vaccination,” Seth replied. “Because I looked around and I saw everyone else at Fox Corp doing their part to get good science out there and be responsible with their platforms. And looking down the barrel of that kind of peer pressure, I said, gosh, we’ve got to do something too.”
Jimmy responded by pointing out that Fox News criticized President Biden’s mandate that employers require their employees to get vaccinated or undergo weekly testing, despite the Fox corporation abiding by those same guidelines.
“The show would be an hour if I were to go off about it,” Seth quipped.
Jimmy then aired part of the new Family Guy PSA, which includes a reference to Gal Gadot‘s viral “Imagine” video. He asked if the network had responded positively when Seth approached them about making the clip.
“Yeah, they’re very civil,” Seth said of execs at Fox. “Look, it’s two halves of the same person. It’s Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde.”
“You see on the news side, they’re obviously in their imaginary fairy land,” he continued, “and then you have the entertainment side — we gotta exist with these people, so let’s be political and make the best of it.”

Last month, Seth said he wanted his show to air on “any other network” after something controversial Tucker Carlson said.
