Britney Spears is in first place!
The 39-year-old “…Baby One More Time” pop icon took the top spot in this year’s TIME100 reader poll, the company revealed Friday (September 10).

The reader poll asks who readers should make the annual list of most influential people, and there were nearly 1.8 million votes, with Britney taking 4% of the vote.
“The famed artist dominated the news cycle this year as a fan-led campaign to end her 13-year conservatorship under her father gained momentum, with people around the world calling to #FreeBritney. Spears spoke openly in court for the first time in June about her circumstances, alleging she’d been subject to ‘abusive’ conditions, and her legal battle for autonomy highlighted a system that many disability rights advocates have long fought to reform,” the outlet said of her relevance in pop culture in the past year.
Health Care Workers came in second place with 3.1% of the vote amid the pandemic, followed by Vaccine Developers, who got 2.5% of readers’ votes.
Then came BTS in fourth place with 2.1%, and Simone Biles, in fifth with 2% of the vote.
The outlet will reveal the TIME100 list on September 15. See who they picked last year!
