Normani and her fans are campaigning for a performance slot at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards.
The 25-year-old “Motivation” singer revealed on Thursday (August 19) that she was not yet booked to perform at the awards show after Cardi B tweeted about hoping to see her perform at the show.
“I hope my girls Lizzo & Normani are performing at the VMAs,” she wrote.

“They haven’t booked me yet,” Normani responded.
Fans began to send their support and outrage to the singer, as she clarified that it was nothing to do with her record label, RCA: “nope they have been doing everything in their power,” she said.
“Drained,” she added to another fan, who said: “The odds are always against Mani and I’m honestly f–king tired.”
She began retweeting fans who used the hashtag #LetNormaniPerform, pointing out her “Wild Side” trending topics and view stats, as well as her headline-grabbing performance of “Motivation” at the 2019 MTV VMAs.
