Hong Kong’s Commerce and Economic Development Bureau has been facing pressure to answer why Nicole Kidman was exempt from city’s seven-day hotel quarantine for vaccinated people arriving from Australia. They have now released a statement on why she was given an exemption.
If you don’t know, Australia was put into another lockdown due to COVID-19 cases following a surge in the Delta variant. Initially, travelers from the country were required to quarantine for seven days and starting tomorrow, travelers will need to quarantine for 14 days, regardless of vaccination status. She allegedly touched down in the city on August 12.

According to THR, the bureau released a statement saying she received an exemption “to carry out designated professional work.”
Nicole is in Hong Kong to shoot the Amazon series Expats. According to the publication, Expats is about a “group of close-knit wealthy women expatriates in Hong Kong.” Reports have seen Nicole shopping and out and about in the city.
She has not released a statement at this time.
Nicole has a new show out that has a star-studded cast.
