The upcoming HBO limited series The White House Plumbers has paused production while the network investigates allegations of unprofessional behavior on set.
The five-part series will star Justin Theorux and Woody Harrelson. The show will tell “the true story of how Nixon’s own political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, E. Howard Hunt (Harrelson) and G. Gordon Liddy (Theroux), accidentally toppled the presidency they zealously were trying to protect.”

Deadline reports that the production pause was caused by an on-set altercation between series director and executive producer David Mandel and someone who works in the prop department. The initial incident took place on Wednesday (August 4) and a second altercation may have happened on Thursday (August 5). The outlet reports that the second altercation “led to the show’s prop department allegedly quitting in protest.”
People involved in the production were informed of the suspension when the call sheet was sent out on Thursday night. It’s unclear when the show will resume production.
HBO said in a statement, “HBO has received reports of alleged unprofessional behavior on the set of White House Plumbers. We take very seriously our responsibility to ensure a respectful work environment on all our productions, and we are investigating the matter fully.”
