According to Senior Correspondent Ben Tracy, the news outlet confirmed: “the CDC will announce this afternoon that fully vaccinated Americans should return to wearing masks in indoor public settings due to the spread of the #DeltaVariant.”
This will be a reversal of the decision made over two months ago that fully vaccinated Americans may go without masks in most places.
“The change follows reports of rising breakthrough infections with the Delta variant of the virus in people who were fully immunized, and case surges in regions with low vaccination rates. The vaccines remain effective against the worst outcomes of infection with the virus, including those involving the Delta variant,” the New York Times reported.
One state recently made a controversial decision about vaccine outreach amid the pandemic.
