Michael Rapaport is speaking his mind about who should be the next host of The Bachelor.
The 51-year-old comedian and reality TV superfan made an appearance on Sirius XM’s Pop Culture Spotlight with Jessica Shaw on Thursday (July 8).
During the interview, he shared that he felt “disrespected” that ABC didn’t reach out to him about taking over as host of the series after Chris Harrison‘s departure.

“They f–king should approach me as Chris Harrison’s abandoned gig,” the Atypical actor said. “Cause I would do it with a zest, a passion, a dramatic flair and I would do great. I was, I’ll be honest. I felt disrespected that no one came to me. What is it called? Um, The Bachelor in Paradise… felt disrespected.”
Chris exited the series in June after defending a Bachelor contestant’s decision to attend an “antebellum plantation themed ball.”
It was then announced that the show would be temporarily hosted by a series of rotating guest hosts, including David Spade, Lance Bass, Tituss Burgess and Lil Jon, as ABC looked for a full-time replacement.
Michael added, ““I felt disrespected because I know some of those other people that are doing it, they don’t appreciate it as much as I would. I would treat it like Shakespeare in The Park. If I hosted The Bachelor, it’d be like Shakespeare In The Park.”
He also shared this thoughts on David Spade stepping in as a host.
“He knows nothing. I love David Spade,” he said. “He knows nothing about reality TV the way I know it. I’ll take him to task and I’ve known David Spade for 30 years. I would tell him to his face.”
“It would be like King Lear if I hosted The Bachelor, be like my version of King Lear with Meryl Streep on Broadway,” he continued.
It was recently revealed how much Chris Harrison would receive in his Bachelor payout. Check it out…
