John Barrowman, best known for playing Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who and the spin-off series Torchwood, is facing lots of backlash after he revealed his thoughts on M. Night Shyamalan‘s new movie Old.
The 54-year-old Scottish actor took to his Twitter account and tagged the director in a tweet, in which he called the film “a waste of money and an utter Shite movie.”
“We get the metaphors but we still got a refund! We were so disappointed. Don’t waste your time or money going to see it,” John added. He also included a video in which he confirmed that he demanded a refund from the movie theater because he didn’t like the film.
John said in the video, “I got the money back because they said ‘Usually within the first 30 minutes we give the money back.’ The movie didn’t do anything for two frickin’ hours. It was s***e.”
The tweet with the video has since been deleted.

Read below to see what people are saying in response to his tweet. People are slamming him for demanding a refund after sitting through the entire movie, for tagging Shyamalan in his tweet, and for criticizing a movie like Old when he has films like Shark Attack 3 on his filmography.
Earlier this year, Barrowman was involved in another controversy.
John Barrowman, a man with net worth likely in 7 figures, is asking for a refund because he did not enjoy a film. After everything that has happened to the arts during Covid, this entitled fuckwad is complaining about supporting the industry that made him rich and successful…

John Barrowman successfully getting a refund because he didn’t like Old reminds me of when I worked at a cinema while Into the Woods was out, and we had to give multiple refunds to people who ‘didn’t realise James Corden was in it’

my heart goes out to the cinema employee that had to deal with john barrowman

John Barrowman, currently on a "sorry you felt that way" tour for exposing himself, feeling the need to try and tag the filmmakers involved to let them know how much their movie sucked, like a real professional. This is the kind of thing a second-rate troll does. pic.twitter.com/0nG1eiBF1c

And that is another thing: who asks for a refund just because they didn't like a film, after having sat through it to the end? I don't think I ever asked for refund, even during technical mishap, and I once sat for 90 mins waiting for a cinema to download film they forgot.

Well this is pretty shitty, but to tag the director too is plain vile. Why would anyone feel the need to do this? pic.twitter.com/03nxIehjhM

I don’t know who @JohnBarrowman is but he’s just convinced me to buy a ticket for OLD. #LoveYourCinema

I don’t think @JohnBarrowman, star of Shark Attack 3, has any right to complain about Old like that. pic.twitter.com/VeGyWuHsqt
