Queen Elizabeth‘s Trooping the Colour event was much different this year than in previous years!
The 95-year-old royal marked her official birthday with a military ceremony in the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle on Saturday (June 12) in Windsor, England.
While the Queen is normally joined by her entire family on Buckingham Palace’s balcony at the event, only one other person was invited to the ceremony this year.

Queen Elizabeth was joined at the Trooping the Colour event this year by her cousin, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.
“Following consultation with Government and other relevant parties it has been agreed that The Queen’s Official Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour, will not go ahead this year in its traditional form in central London,” the palace announced back in March.
The Trooping the Colour event also was scaled back last year because of the pandemic.
