Jared Leto Ad-Libbed This Line for New Scene in 'Justice League' Snyder Cut

Jared Leto filmed some new scenes for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the new four-hour version of the epic superhero movie, and some cool details about his work were just revealed.

One of Jared‘s lines from the trailer, in which he says “we live in a society,” went viral last month and now director Zack Snyder is talking about that moment.

Zack acknowledged to THR how the line is a reference to a Joker-related meme and the line was ad-libbed by Jared.

“We went back and forth a bit, and I’ll give Jared credit for that little ad-lib there, because it was really, really beautiful,” Zack said.

“It was based on a bunch of ideas that I had had over the years. I had been planting a bunch of Easter eggs in the other movies that I thought it was time to harvest into this scene,” he added.

Jared played the Joker in the 2016 movie Suicide Squad and Zack wanted to bring him back for this bonus scene in his cut of Justice League.

Zack and Jared talked for a while,” his wife, producer Deborah Snyder, revealed. “Before we approached the studio, he wanted to make sure that they would be interested. At first, it was like ‘No,’ and then it was like, ‘Well, maybe,’ and then Zack was like, ‘Do you want to see the scene that I worked on?’”

Read all about how the scene was accomplished amid scheduling conflicts with Jared and Batman actor Ben Affleck.
