A scary moment happened during the latest episode of American Idol when a contestant collapsed, face first, while on stage.
During the duets round of Hollywood Week, contestant Funke Lagoke was performing with Ronda Felton and it didn’t go too well for them.
While being judged after their performance, Ronda was told that she started strong, but her self-confidence issues showed as the song went on and she “crashed and burned,” according to judge Lionel Richie.
As Lionel was about to tell Funke his thoughts on her performance, she all of sudden passed out and fell to the ground face first. The judges ran on stage to help her and Luke Bryan noted that she “busted her chin.”

The paramedics showed up and took Funke to the hospital, where she was treated for her injuries. After she was taken away, the judges comforted Ronda, who was clearly shaken up by the moment.
The judges told Ronda that both she and Funke would be advancing to the next round. A statement from the show’s producers then appeared on the screen.
“Funke was treated for dehydration and released from the hospital. She will return for the showstopper round,” the statement read.
Another moment from the episode of American Idol is getting a lot of attention as well.
