The Call Me By Your Name sequel might not be happening anytime soon, but director Luca Guadagnino and actor Timothee Chalamet are making a new movie that seems to be ripped from the headlines surrounding their collaborator Armie Hammer.
Timothee and Luca are teaming up for the upcoming movie Bones and All, which was billed just as a “horror love story” in the announcement made by Deadline.
Now, more reports about the film have been released and we’ve learned the movie is based on the novel by Camille DeAngelis.
THR reports that the story follows “Maren Yearly on a cross-country trip as she searches for the father she’s never met in an attempt to understand why she has the urge to kill and eat the people that love her.”
If you’ve been following what has been reported about Armie in the last few weeks, you’ll know that he has been accused of fetishizing cannibalism in messages that he allegedly sent to women on Instagram. In the first screencaps that went viral earlier this month, he reportedly said “I am 100% a cannibal.”
This project was likely in the works before the Armie controversy went public, but a lot of people on social media are definitely noticing the strange timing of the film’s announcement.

As if these two are reuniting for a cannibal love story without Armie Hammer😳 All jokes aside though this’ll probably be my most anticipated movie of whatever year it comes out https://t.co/X7FzDxS2yS
