Mariah Carey continues to shade Jennifer Lopez, this time taking a dig at her fellow singer in her new memoir, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey.
In the book, Carey gives fans an insight into the origins of their supposed feud, in which she has continuously given Lopez the cold shoulder with her infamous line, "I don't know her."
Well, it seems their rivalry began after Carey's ex-husband and Sony music executive Tommy Mottola gave Lopez a sample of Yellow Magic Orchestra's 'Firecracker' track to use in her 2001 single 'I'm Real', featuring rapper Ja Rule.
It was the same sample Carey had used on her single 'Loverboy', the lead single to her album Glitter, which she had planned to release around the same time.
"Tommy was furious when I cut the strings he used to manipulate me," she wrote in her memoir. "There was no way he would allow me to have a huge success after leaving him and Sony. He was not going to let me or Glitter shine."

Carey said her ex — they were married from 1993 to 1998 — did all he could to "sabotage" her career.
"After hearing my new song, using the same sample I used, Sony rushed to make a single for another female entertainer on their label (whom I don't know)," she wrote, referencing her famous line.
Carey also claimed in her book that she made plans to work with Ja Rule on a collaboration, but her plans never eventuated as he soon popped up on Lopez's record.
Of that incident, Carey wrote that Mottola allegedly called up the rapper's manager Irv Gotti "asking him and Ja to collaborate on a duet for the same female entertainer's record — leaving me to scurry and remake the song".
But it seems Mottola's allegedly plans to derail Carey's career were unsuccessful as 'Loverboy' was the best-selling single of 2001.
"And after all that s--t, 'Loverboy' ended up being the best-selling single of 2001 in the United States. I'm real," Carey concluded while referencing Lopez's track.
