Celebrities, politicians, and others are reacting to the bombshell allegation that President Trump only paid $750 in taxes in 2016 and 2017.
The New York Times released a report on Sunday (September 27) in which they finally revealed what the president has been hiding in his tax returns for all of these year.
The Times‘ article said, “Donald J. Trump paid $750 in federal income taxes the year he won the presidency. In his first year in the White House, he paid another $750. He had paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years — largely because he reported losing much more money than he made.”
A lawyer for the Trump Organization claimed that “most, if not all, of the facts appear to be inaccurate.”

Donald Trump paid just $750 in income taxes in 2016 and 2017. He knows better than anyone that there’s one set of rules for the wealthy and giant corporations and another for hardworking Americans—and instead of using his power to fix it, he's taken advantage of it at every turn. https://t.co/b8EsstEf5T

Shock of shocks! Donald Trump, the self-proclaimed billionaire, received a $72.9 million tax refund from the IRS while not paying a nickel in federal income taxes in 10 out of 15 years.
Yep. Trump l-o-v-e-s corporate socialism for himself, rugged capitalism for everyone else.

$750.
Seven hundred fifty dollars.
SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS.
That’s why he hid his tax returns.
Because the whole time, he wasn’t paying taxes. But you were.
Plumbers and teachers and fast food workers and accountants were (and still are) paying for his lifestyle.
$750.

CELEBRITIES
If you paid more than $750.00 in Federal taxes (which supports the military and vets by the way) then you paid more than Trump paid. https://t.co/6PS7nHrDS6

By the way, the trump tax bombshell is why he is a national security risk every fucking minute he sits in the people’s house.
He’s a bum with no money and up to his eyeballs in debt and Russian oligarchs.

I paid more income taxes bussing fucking tables at TGIF’s in Harrisburg PA than the president of the United States who claims to be a billionaire.

Biden’s needs to start on the “nickname” trend. Voters tend to really remember the nickname when describing a candidate. 750 is a great nickname

This is why EVERY CANDIDATE for President MUST release their taxes before even entering the race.
Or is that too sane.— kristen johnston (@thekjohnston) September 27, 2020
Before I saw the news someone texted me “750 is wild,” and I definitely assumed it was $750K NOT SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS OH MY GOD.

Fun fact: In 2016, Trump paid Stormy Daniels more than 173x what he paid the federal government in income taxes.
